U.S. Special Operation Forces are a true force to be reckoned with. Feared and respected by every enemy, Special Forces are extremely successful at what they do.
However, practice begets success. Many people don’t realize this, but Special Forces have rigorous training that deviates from the “normal” range of wartime operations. Emerald Warrior is one of those training exercises. Emerald Warrior is an annual Department of Defense (DoD) exercise that focuses on irregular warfare and hones special operations forces air and ground combat skills, with joint special operations forces training to respond to various threats across the spectrum of conflict.
The exercise is hosted by the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command, and it allows U.S. Special Operations Forces and partner nation participants to train together to strengthen their relationships, develop interoperability, and to execute advanced tactical scenarios while strengthening joint warfighting relationships for future deployments. At the same time, Special Operations personnel use the exercise as a way to further develop tactics, techniques and procedures for emerging concepts of special operations forces warfare, providing trained and ready forces to combatant commanders.
