During a Las Vegas home robbery last Monday night, a total of three people were shot, and one of those was killed. Neighbors who heard gun shots all made calls to 911, and when police arrived on the scene, they found a man’s body lying in the backyard. Inside the house was the homeowner and a woman who had been shot in the arm.
Police say the homeowner and a woman were in the home when two home intruders entered and bound the couple with duct tape about 10:30 p.m. Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Dan McGrath said the homeowner escaped from the duct tape and got his gun, shooting the two suspects multiple times. “
I’m not sure how he was able to break free, but he was able to retrieve a firearm and shoot the suspects,” McGrath said.
As of Tuesday morning, the homeowner was not going to be charged with shooting the intruders. The two men who entered the home were both armed, and one was able to flee the scene after he was shot by the homeowner. While no arrests have yet been made, a man in his 20s arrived at a local hospital, less than 2 miles from the shooting site, with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The suspect denied being involved with the incident but police believe, he was involved with the home invasion.
The deceased man and his cause of death will be released after his relatives have been notified.
