The first picture of the man believed to be the terrorist involved in Wednesday’s attack on the British Parliament was shared by Daily Mail U.K. Wednesday afternoon. The alleged attacker can be seen laying on a stretcher receiving medical care from emergency workers.
On Wednesday, a suspect hit multiple pedestrians on the Westminster Bridge leading up to the British Parliament in London, leaving four dead and at least another 20 injured. The suspect reportedly continued to drive to the Parliament, crashed his car into the gate of the Portcullis House, before stabbing a police officer. The suspect was then shot by police.
The suspected terrorist can be seen leaving in an ambulance.
A knife can be seen in the picture at the scene of where the attacker went down. Some are also noticing there may have been two knives visible at the scene.
Frazer Clarke, a 25-year old witness from Burton-on-Trent, told the Daily Mail that they “heard a loud bang and screaming and then I noticed some smoke. I thought it was a car crash.”
Clarke added that the suspect had two knives.
“I looked towards the front gate and people were running, a police officer and a fellow coming to the gate with two knives,” Clarke said. “He was stabbing the police officer with the knives. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a black of grey top and what looked like work boots. The police officer was stumbling and fell on the floor.”
The terrorist reportedly mowed down pedestrians with a gray Hyundai 4×4.
The front of the vehicle appears heavily damaged and the airbag looks to have deployed.
The officer that was stabbed has been reported dead.
Minister Tobias Ellwood was photographed at the scene of the attack trying to save the life of the police officer before he died.
It is reported that Ellwood’s brother was killed in the Bali terror attack.
