Naval Officer Gives The Wrong Answer For Easy “Jeopardy!” Question About The Navy

March 22, 2017

It was an embarrassing moment Monday night when a Naval flight officer based in Oak Harbor, Washington answered a question on “Jeopardy!” that every sailor should be able to answer in the blink of an eye.

The clue for the question was “Members of this service founded Oct. 13, 1775 really have the blues.”

Lt. Cmdr. Eli Rosenberger, assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron 137 at Whidbey Island in Washington, wearing his dress blues was the first one to the buzzer. Thinking the question was easy to answer, he responds, “What is the Marine Corps?”

Immediately after answering incorrectly, Rosenberger puts his head down knowing he made a massive mistake.

It is safe to say that this is one moment his fellow sailors will never let him live it down.

After the question is answered correctly by the third contestant, host Alex Trebek comments, “Eli is not happy right now,” to which Eli Rosenberger responds, “No, I’m not.”
