An Alabama man has been charged with carrying a pistol without a permit after authorities say a gun fell from his buttocks during an arrest.
Police in Alabama got a call about a prowler but when they go to the scene they found 23-year-old Jesse O’Neal Roberts being held at gunpoint by the homeowner. It was evident to police that Roberts was impaired so he was arrested on charges of public intoxication.
Police transported Roberts to the Alabama Limestone County Jail for processing. Police did note that Roberts was walking strangely but attributed it to his altered state. While being booked, something fell out of Robert’s buttocks area. Police thought he was having a bowel movement on himself.
It turned out that, thankfully, it wasn’t a bowel movement at all, but rather a pistol that fell from his buttocks into his boxers.
“I immediately considered that he defecated on himself before noticing a familiar shape in the form of a pistol in his boxers,” a corrections officer said, according to AL.com.
The pistol had been reported as stolen and Roberts didn’t have a permit. Robert’s simple charge of public intoxication jumped to two felony charges of “first-degree promoting prison contraband,” and “fourth-degree receiving stolen property” for “dumping” the Jimenez .380 pistol.
