On Friday, President Donald Trump took that stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and spoke about rebuilding the military, defending the United States against ISIS, and putting America first.
“I’m here today to tell you what the future of this movement means for America and the future of the party,” Trump said. “The core conviction of our movement is that we are a nation that put, and will put, its own citizens first.”
When speaking about building up the military, Trump vowed to make it “bigger and better and stronger” than ever before.
“It will be one of the greatest military buildups in American history,” he said. “No one will dare question, as they have been because we are very depleted, our military might again. We believe in peace through strength and that’s what we will have.”
“Nobody’s gonna mess with us folks, nobody,” he continued, promising to put in “massive budget request for our beloved military.”
President Trump also referred to the growing terror threat in Europe.
“We can’t let it happen to us,” he said. “We are going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country.”
He spoke about the building of the wall along the Mexican border, saying that the construction is “way ahead of schedule” as the U.S. continues to deport illegal immigrants.
“We are getting the bad ones out,” he said. “These are bad, bad dudes. We are getting bad people out of this country. Whether it’s drugs or murder, we are getting bad people out and I said it from day one. Basically, all I’ve done is keep my promise.”
“As we speak today, immigration officers are finding the gang members and throwing them the hell out of our country,” he said.
Trump vowed that the administration would not be deterred from keeping America safe.
“We will not be deterred from this course,” he said. “In a matter of days, we will be taking brand new action to protect our people and keep America safe.”
“You will see the action,” he said.
When speaking about the future, the President said, “the future belongs to us.”
