Nowadays it looks as if active shooter situations are the new normal. From massive public demonstration,s to close quarters, terrorists and criminals are pushing the envelope when it comes to pulling the trigger. Gone are the days when criminals would avoid at all costs having any type of shootout with security forces. It’s almost as if they look for it now. Because of that, law enforcement units everywhere have been forced to integrate active shooter training situations accordingly.
Recruit depots aren’t the exception. In this video, MCRD Parris Island conducts an anti-terrorism/force protection training exercise on its grounds. During the exercise, Marine Corps law enforcement police officers respond to a facility after an active shooter entered and shot into a crowd of family day attendees before taking hostages in a closed room. A very interesting type of training for sure.
