Watch A U.S. Marine Fighter Attack Squadron Do The First Ever Hot Load Training

January 12, 2017

First to fight, first to train, first to get the new fifth generation stealth multirole fighters F-35B. That seems to be the new motto of the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 (VMFA-121), also known as the “Green Knights”. Based at MCAS Yuma, Arizona under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 13 (MAG-13) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW), the Green Knights became the first operational F-35B Lightning II squadron in the Marine Corps Operating Forces and the first operational F-35 squadron in any service.

This video shows the the leathernecks with VFMA-121 doing the first ever hot load training for the Lightning II as part of their intense training to become deployment ready. Not only are they the first to get the fifth generation stealth fighter jets, but they’re also the first operational and deployment ready F-35B squadron in the whole U.S. world. That’s a great accomplishment for these U.S. Marines.
