Andrew Dakich, a walk-on guard on the University of Michigan’s basketball team, got the surprise of his life this week thanks to some campus police officers who decided to help play a little prank on him.
Dakich was in a team meeting when two officers came in and said they needed to speak with him. Dakich, understandably nervous, was told that his conduct had led to a number of investigations which required his presence in the compliance office.
Dakich’s body turned visibly tense throughout the officer’s announcement, but gave way to relief as the officer finished his statement with the news that he was to be awarded with a full scholarship for the 2017 season.
The room erupted in a cheer and Dakich shook the officer’s hand with a big smile.
