In Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, an officer’s investigation had come to a disappointing end. Williamsport Police Officer Andrew Stevens had been on the hunt to find a stolen package containing a coat and 20 dollars for laundry. It had been stolen from a porch, and the mother who had sent it to her son was worried that her son would be cold in the Pennsylvania winter.
Officer Stevens realized that he wouldn’t be able to find the package and went above the call of duty. He personally purchased a winter coat and hat for the man.
The formerly coat-less man, Andrew Vanatta, was extremely pleased with his new outerwear. He tried it on and loved it.
“Happy! Real happy! I don’t have to be cold anymore,” said Vanatta.
“Hopefully it keeps him warm! I’m happy that he’ll enjoy it,” said Officer Stevens.
