Dallas Police Officer Uses Music To Unite The Community

Dallas Police Officer Uses Music To Unite The Community Featured

A Dallas Police Officer, Charles Vaughn, was caught on video at Richland College approaching a group of students who were playing music and singing. The wary students began packing up their equipment and preparing to leave, but Officer Vaughn had something different in mind.

“No, no, no, you guys are fine,” he told them.

He began to sing with them, and their shock was evident.

“I came in singing and they were just like – face dropped, one guy hit the ground… it was so funny.”

Officer Vaughn is a recruiter for the Dallas PD, and his main tool for his trade is his music. When he isn’t wearing the uniform, he performs under the name “Ray Vaughn,” and he uses his talent to reach out to the young people in his city.

A similar situation is what got him into uniform, as well. Officer Vaughn had no plans to become a police officer until a recruiter approached him when he was in college.

Check out how Officer Vaughn is using his music to have an impact on the community:
