On Wednesday, a spokesman for George H.W. Bush said that the 92-year-old former President and his wife, Barbara, had both been admitted to the hospital. Jim McGrath stated that the 41st President of the United States has been at Houston Methodist Hospital since Saturday for “an acute respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia.” McGrath added that doctors “performed a procedure to protect and clear his airway that required sedation” and said that he has been responding well to treatments. Barbara Bush was admitted Wednesday morning as a precaution after she was “experiencing fatigue and coughing.”
