The U.S. defense industry has produced some of the most advanced and overall impressive military weapons systems that the world has ever seen. Rockets, high powered laser beams, main battle tanks, light and heavily armored vehicles, field artillery, high precision bombs, and the list goes on and on. But there is one system in the utmost important area of aerial attack that trumps them all: the Lockheed Martin U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor.
The F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Air Force primarily as an air superiority fighter. The result of the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Tactical Fighter program, the F-22 Raptor also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence capabilities. One of the most expensive systems to produce and maintain, the Raptor is so technologically and tactically advanced that it has rarely been used. With fighter jets such as the F-18, F-16, and F-15 still in use, the U.S. Air Force hasn’t really had the need to deploy the F-22 to its maximum stated capabilities.
This video shows footage of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet preparing and taxing for take off, and also includes footage of F-22 doing Touch-and-Go. It’s a true marvel of U.S. ingenuity.
