Matt Carriker of the DemolitionRanch YouTube channel always tries to one-up his stunts in every video. From shooting a car with a tank, to trying to blow up safes, his videos are always creative and often go off with a bang.
But sometimes, they like to offer up some practical demonstrations as well. In a recent video, Carriker decided to see just how tough a one-inch thick steel plate really is when it’s up against an array of different ammo. Surprisingly, the little hunk of metal did an amazing job.

The demonstration called for Carriker to fire off some rounds from a bunch of different weapons, each more devastating than the last.

First up, Carriker used a 9mm full metal jacket round fired from CZ Scorpion. Not content with just firing once, Carriker unloaded and nailed six shots one after the other.
Just as Carriker suspected, the bullets did little more than scratch the pink paint off the tough steel plate.

Next, Carriker upped the ante with the former heavyweight handgun champion of the world, the .44 Magnum. A standard bullet from the weapon proved worthless, so Carriker moved up to a hollow-point round.
“Speed is how you defeat armor, so let’s see if this makes a difference,” Carriker said. But the better than average bullet could not get the job done.

After a number of sporting rifles that also did not do the trick, Carriker brought out the big guns. A single armor-piercing incendiary tracer round fired from a beefy sniper rifle ended up finally causing some noticeable damage. The battered and bruised metal was down, but not out.
The metal had noticeable craters, though surprisingly was still not completely pierced. Carriker, at this point, was out of weapons, and formally declared the metal the winner.
The DemoltionRanch YouTube channel is chock-full of explosive content. The men who run the channel are always putting their weapons through some crazy challenges, and their millions of dedicated fans love to see what they will come up with next.
