In an attempt to keep the President-elect out of the oval office come January, a handful of Hollywood celebrities teamed up and released a video making a plea for the Republican electors to disregard their states’ voting results and refuse to cast their ballots for Donald Trump on December 19th. Martin Sheen, Bob Odenkirk, Debra Messing, and others are seen on the PSA called “A Message for Electors to Unite For America” released by Unite for America on Wednesday, speaking to the electors on the right, trying to push them to deny Trump the Presidency.

“Republican members of the electoral college,” Martin Sheen begins the video, “this message is for you.”

“As you know, our Founding Fathers built the Electoral College to safeguard the American people from the dangers of a demagogue, and to ensure that the presidency only goes to someone who is to an ’eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications,'” pulling a line from The Federalist Papers.

“The electoral college was created specifically to prevent an unfit candidate from becoming President,” James Cromwell says.

Then, BD Wong and Noah Wyle go on to lightly explain how the electoral college works and how the electors votes can make a difference.

R&B Singer Freda Payne tells electorates to “vote your conscious” on December 19th.

Then some new faces repeat that they’re not telling the voters to “vote for Hillary Clinton,” but someone they believe is “especially competent.”

“What is evident is that Donald Trump lacks more than the qualifications to be President,” Mike Farrell says. Under the Constitution, the only qualifications required to be President are that you must be a natural born citizen, at least 35-years-old, and lived within the United States for 14 years. Donald Trump meets all of those requirements.

Debra Messing claims Trump “lacks the necessary stability.”

Sheen tells the electors they have the ability “to go down in history as an American Hero” if they don’t cast a vote for Trump.

The hashtag “#SupportTheElectors” appears at the end of the video.
