A group of U.S. military veterans arrived at Standing Rock last week to join the protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline. In this video, a veteran goes on a viral rant about why there are so many veterans joining the cause against the Dakota Access Pipeline, but there are very few that protest the VA.
The veteran makes the point that whether or not you agree with the Dakota Access Pipeline, there are thousands of veterans that have not been treated or have not been treated well through the VA.
He points out that in his hometown in New Jersey there was a veteran that lit himself on fire outside of a VA office because he was not receiving treatment, something that the vet was so desperately in need of.
There have been multiple cases where veterans have not received proper care from the VA including an incident two weeks ago where Sergeant John Toombs committed suicide on VA property just before Thanksgiving. He created a video of his last testament just before committing suicide.
