Less than a week before the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis pulled into Pearl Harbor to participate in National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day events as a part of the Pearl Harbor 75th Commemoration.
On December 2, as the aircraft carrier passed by the USS Arizona Memorial, sailors aboard the USS John C. Stennis paid their respects and saluted.
December 7, 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and Oahu, leading the United States to enter World War II.
The theme of this years commemoration is “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.” Events will be held through December 11 for those who are attending.
Remembrance events, concerts and performances by military and civilian groups, movies, the Honolulu marathon and events for World War II and Pearl Harbor veterans and survivors will be held.
