The Mannequin Challenge is a viral Internet video trend where people remain frozen in action like mannequins while a video is recorded. One particular Mannequin Challenge resulted in at least one Alabama man’s arrest for criminal possession of a firearm. The video was viewed millions of times on social media since last month. A Huntsville woman’s post was shared more than 87,000 times as of Tuesday afternoon.
In the video, the 20+ men are standing still like statues while being videotaped. The front yard video shoot was designed as a shootout, with the men posing as if they were in the middle of a bloody gun fight. Unfortunately, this Mannequin Challenge video led authorities to execute a search warrant at the home seen in the video and arrest two men.
Kenneth White, 49, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a weapon. Both he and Terry Brown, a 23-year-old, were arrested on marijuana charges. Two pistols, an assault-style rifle and a shotgun were found in the home along with extra magazines. It is believed that other men in the video may have been connected to felonies and could also face charges.
