Good news for gun owners in Florida, now you can renew your concealed carry permits online. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services have posted the guidelines for how to go about renewing your concealed carry application online. Florida is home to some 1.5 million registered concealed carriers and now if you already have a permit, they are making the process to renew even easier.
If you are renewing an out of state permit, you will have to include a set of fingerprints. Also, if you are changing your name or address, you will have to provide any available documentation to prove that. Florida sees this as a way to help their citizens and visitors remain safe. The state is still trying to get concealed carry on campus pushed through the House and Senate.
Florida does require gun training, but its not a state-mandated course. Other courses offered through an NRA-certified instructor are also acceptable, including NRA or FWCC Hunter safety courses and NRA or DACS firearms safety courses. Any course offered by a state-certified instructor offered to the general public, either hosted by law enforcement, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, or the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission is also accepted, along with courses offered through state-certified bodies for security guards, private investigators, and law enforcement.
