A Chinese villager has spent the last 25 years unknowingly cracking walnuts with a hand grenade.
The villager from Ankang, in China’s Shaanxi province, made the discovery after noticing it looked similar to a grenade pictured on a leaflet handed out by local police, Huanqiu reported.
The man had been using the hand grenade, which was given to him by a friend, for the past 25 years to crack walnuts.
Police say that the grenade had not detonated but they were unsure if it still contained explosives.
One person commented on the social media site “Weibo” saying, “It’s more stable than a Samsung phone.”
