A teenager who had joined ISIS in Mosul accidentally killed his six family members when his explosive suicide belt went off in their home east of the city.
Alsumaria News reported that the teenager who belonged to the “Cub of the Caliphate” was given the explosive belt by ISIS where it later exploded when he returned to his home in the al-Wehda district of Mosul.
“The teenager’s belt exploded inside his home. It appeared later that all of his family, including three children, were killed,” an anonymous source told the news station.
Giving suicide belts to recruited teenagers is a common tactic used by the terror group to help their cause.
Last month, Iraqi troops and a U.S-led coalition began an operation to liberate the city of Mosul from ISIS forces.
