U.S. Special Forces really kick ass. They are not only a force to reckon with, but also the type of force that once it gets its mission, it can be considered accomplished. There are very few things that can get on the way or stop them from getting things done.
Traditionally, U.S. Special Forces have been used only for high reward targets, difficult missions, or even clandestine missions where the footprint of a large military force could be inappropriate or inconvenient politically or otherwise. That’s when the big boys are called in. Except that as of late, due to the strained put on traditional troops and ever changing political situations, U.S. Special Forces are being asked to do do more, to pick up the slack that traditional troops are too exhausted or forbidden to do.
