When Logan Stark first stepped foot in Afghanistan in fall 2010 he thought war would be just like the video games. His first week was a sobering reality check. In the first seven days ten men from his battalion were killed. It was the first time Stark realized he may not go home.
Luckily, Stark survived. After he left Afghanistan he became a student at Michigan State University. Unfortunately, Stark was never able to fully mentally recover from what he was exposed to in the Middle East.
He thought the best way to confront this trauma would be to make a documentary detailing his seven-month tour in Afghanistan. He wanted to help himself, but more importantly, he wanted to honor the 25 men that were killed during his deployment.
The result was this shockingly in-depth 48-minute documentary. The title? “For the 25” A subtle nod to the great men that gave their lives to protect Stark’s and the values of American culture.
