Armed Relative Prevents Murder By Shooting Gun-Toting Stalker During Home Invasion

October 19, 2016

An armed Georgia man who broke into the home of a woman who he was stalking in what appeared to be an attempt at murdering her was shot multiple times by a relative of the woman, forcing him to flee, last Friday.

William Brady III, 43, was taken to a hospital to be treated for his multiple wounds and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 11:00 am on Friday, Brady walked up to the home armed with a handgun and attempted to break in. A woman at the home, who was staying with relatives at the time, called 911 to report that Brady was at the home and had been stalking her.

Brady broke into the home and opened fire on the woman and the other two residents, the Sheriff’s Office said. A male resident armed himself upon Brady’s break in. As Brady approached and opened fire, the male resident shot back and hit Brady multiple times, forcing him to flee the home.

The sheriff’s Emergency Response Team arrived at the scene to see Brady on the ground outside the home. Brady was then taken to the hospital and a handgun suspected to be Brady’s was recovered.

The man who shot Brady isn’t expected to be charged with any crime as it was a case of self defense.

Since the incident, emergency protective restraining orders were issued to the woman and her relatives that were in the home at the time Brady broke in.
