Apple Staff Gets Fired For Stealing Customer’s Nude Pics And Ranking Them In Group Chat

October 14, 2016

Four male retail workers at an Australian Apple store were fired after they were caught stealing pictures from their client’s phones and then sharing the nude and racy pictures of the women in a group chat. They would then rank the women.

Apple said earlier this week that there was no evidence that these employees had a “photo-sharing ring.”

Dozens of photos were taken of female staff at the Apple store and some pictures and images were stolen from their clients phones.

The “photo-sharing ring” was noticed by a staff member at the Carindale store who noticed that a technician was looking through a customers phone while in the repair room, the Courier Mail reported.

The photos were then shared in the group chat and their appearance was ranked on a score of 1-10.

Apple confirmed in a statement that the employees were fired and the incident was under investigation.

“Apple believe in treating everyone equally and with respect, and we do not tolerate behavior that goes against our values,” a statement said. “We are investigating a violation of Apple’s business conduct policy at our store in Carindale, where several employees have already been terminated as a result of our findings.”

“Based on our investigation thus far, we have seen no evidence that customer data or photos were inappropriately transferred or that anyone was photographed by these former employees,” the statement continued. “We have met with our store team to let them know about the investigation and inform them about the steps Apple is taking to protect their privacy.”
