While reporting on air, CNN’s Ed Lavandera was shoulder checked by a protester causing him to fall to the ground.
Lavendera was reporting on the scene in Charlotte, North Carolina. The protests that were in response to the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott. While explaining that police were trying to “pull agitators out of crowd” where the protests were being held Lavandera is blindsided by a male who shoulder checks him to the ground.
The scene at the Charlotte protests were extremely violent as protesters were seen looting stores, breaking windows, throwing rocks and injuring police officers.
