Operation Devil Strike was an exercise to ensure the ability to deploy Global Response Force (GRF) infantry assault troops on short notice. Part of an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise (EDRE), it showcased the 82nd Airborne Division’s Global Response Force’s ability to deploy on response. Paratroopers from 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division conducted an airborne operation as part of the EDRE at Fort Hood, Texas in support of the GRF.
Nearly 800 Paratroopers took part in the operation which was followed on by a training mission including Soldiers from 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT), 1st Cavalry Division. Like in this video, where the U.S. Army Paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division load onto C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J Super Hercules Aircraft at Pope Army Airfield, NC and Fort Polk, LA as part of Operation Devil Strike.
