With officer involved shootings making waves in the mainstream media, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department invited several reporters to take part in some police officer training.
Police officers have received a lot of criticism for officer involved shootings, but to show just how tough their job is and to show what kind of steps need to be taken in this situation, reporters were given the opportunity to step into the shoes of police officers in real-life situations.
These simulations show the dangers that police officers deal with, how they have to react in these situations and make split-second decisions.
Five separate local news outlets took part in these training exercises to see what these officers undergo.
