September 30, 2016

Amid rumors that George H.W. Bush is planning on voting for Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton this November over 50 former Bush Administration Employees, under both Bush 41 and Bush 43, have formed a coalition to rally support for Republican Candidate Donald J. Trump. Among the list of names on the “Bush Alumni Coalition” are Donald Rumsfeld, former Defense Secretary from 2001-2006; Ari Fleischer, former White House Press Secretary from 2001-2003; and John Ashcroft, former U.S. Attorney General from 2001-2005.

The past Bush Administration Alum have come together in support of Trump, despite George W. Bush refraining from being involved in any form of endorsement. Bush 43 spoke out in support of his brother Jeb during his Presidential run this election season but has pulled back out of the spotlight since. So far, the only member of the Bush family to outwardly endorse Trump is Jeb’s son: George P. Bush.

Donald Trump posted a press release on his website with a quote from Former Health And Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson that said, “Americans want to trust our leaders again, to know that they are fighting for everyday Americans by creating jobs, growing our economy, defending our nation from terrorism, and respecting the voters enough to be straightforward and honest with them. Donald Trump and Mike Pence will put America first, and make our country great again.”
