Beyond the Barracks is an awesome new show that gives you tours of amazing homes created by veterans for veterans. Think MTV’s Cribs with a military twist. That means no gaudy features or over-inflated egos. Just a good ol’ slice of American life.
The first episode features an Army veteran named “TL” and his wife. The happy couple lives in a one-of-a kind desert home in Arizona. TL has used his Army experience to build his own personal paradise. They’re free from the nuisances of home owners associations, bratty neighbors, and the hustle and bustle of city or suburban life.
Think living off the grid means you need to give up modern luxuries? Think again! TL built their home almost entirely out of recycled or recovered materials. Solar panels, a windmill, and a cozy fire-burning stove give them all the electricity and heat they need. Take a tour of their heavenly hideaway in the desert below!
