Behind limited Russian airstrikes due to a large presence of its soldiers, the Syrian Arab Army initiated a large offensive on the ISIS stronghold in Northern Aleppo with a new batch of Russian T-90 Tanks. Northern Aleppo has been occupied by ISIS since 2014 and is a strategically important position.
Taking advantage of the imposing presence of the T-90’s, and with the devastating effect, albeit limited, of the Russian-provided airstrikes, the SAA put ISIS in the brink, driving them away from the now-devastated town, and delivering yet another blow to ISIS’ regional dominance.
Now they will continue to push their offensive and see how much more damage they can do to ISIS once securing the area.
