On July 28, a group of Muslim teenagers attacked a French bus on Danielle-Casanova Street, in the Saint-Denis district of Paris. The young men smashed out the windows of the bus and torched the vehicle using home-made molotov cocktails and firebombs. Eyewitnesses state that the young men could be heard screaming “Allahu Akbar” while carrying out the attack.
The attack started when the young men constructed a road block made out of garbage cans to stop the bus. Once stopped the young men threatened to kill the driver and five passengers if they did not leave the vehicle. All of the passengers escaped safely. Once the passengers where off the bus the young men smashed out the windows and set the public bus ablaze with a molotov cocktail.

Local mayor Didier Paillard is calling the attack an act of vandalism. He stated to local media:
“This act of premeditated vandalism, the consequences of which could have been tragic, follows an attempted homicide on a worker by a Molotov cocktail on July 22 and buildings being looted.”
Local sources state that busses are a common target for France’s disgruntled youth. It has become a common occurrence for teens to pelt public transportation buses with rocks, particularly at night. The motive for the attack is currently unknown. Police are investigating the attack but no arrests have been made.
