German intelligence agencies have proof that ISIS “hit squads” and “sleeper cells” have infiltrated Germany by posing as refugees. Manfred Hauser, Vice President of the Bavaria region’s intelligence gathering agency, told BBC Today that the intelligence agency is positive that ISIS jihadi’s have used the refugee crisis to enter the country. The German government has struggled to accommodate the million of Middle Eastern refugees pouring into the country at record rates.
Reports show that more than 1.1 million refugees entered Germany in 2015. Up to 80% of refugees currently living in Germany are undocumented or have no passport or any form of ID.
Hauser commented on the crisis and the implication of so many undocumented foreigners during an interview with the BBC:
“We have to accept that we have hit squads and sleeper cells in Germany. We have substantial reports that among the refugees there are hit squads. There are hundreds of these reports, some from refugees themselves. We are still following up on these, and we haven’t investigated all of them fully,”
Tensions in the country remain high as terrorist attacks carried out by home-grown jihadi’s sweep the nation. Few of the attacks have been carried out by refugees but Hauser warns the government and German people must stay vigilant to exterminate the threat that has infiltrated their borders.
