Hollywood Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal are teaming up to write a movie about infamous Army deserter Bowe Berghdahl’s return to American soil. The two filmmakers that brought us the Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty are joining forces to create a film that details the traitors return to American soil after abandoning his post, being held in captivity by the Taliban for five years, and allowing five known terrorist to be released for his safe return.
Boal and Bigelow are not only attempting to make a film that supposedly glorifies the cowardly deserter but Boal has even gone as far as suing the U.S. government after they subpoenaed him for taped interviews he conducted with Bergdahl in preparation for the film.
Here you can see real footage of the Taliban handing the notorious traitor over to the United States military.
Boal And Bigelow announced the film while Bergdahl is facing a court-martial for desertion. If convicted he will face a maximum punishment of confinement for life as well as a dishonorable discharge, reduction in rank to E-1, and forfeiture of pay and allowances.
