Charles Elwood “Chuck” Yeager, 93, is a retired Brigadier General in the United States Air Force, who in 1947, became the first pilot in history to break the speed of sound. By many people, he is regarded as one of the best and most famous pilots of all time.
In October, 1947, Yeager broke the sound barrier when he flew the X-1 at Mach 1.07 over the Mojave Desert.
But this year, in 2016, Yeager puts forth another impressive performance by dominating Twitter with his witty and no-nonsense tweets. He responds to just about anyone that tweets at him with questions regarding topics such as aviation to Star Trek.
He responds with brutal honesty to all the questions asked of him, usually with very little explanation as to why he has those opinions.
