Decorated Combat Veteran Found Dead In Texas Finally Identified

Military officials from Fort Hood, TX have identified a soldier that was found unresponsive in Copperas Cove, TX last Thursday. The cause of death for Sgt. Calvin Wenceslao Aguilar, 32, has not been released. The details of his death are still under investigation.

Officials report that Aguilar has been assigned to the 720 Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood since July, 2013. He was a decorated combat veteran that served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from December 2007 to March 2009 and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan from January 2012 to January 2013.

His awards and decorations include the three Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with arrowhead device, Iraqi Campaign Medal with campaign star, two Army Good Conduct Medals, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, NATO medal,Army Service Ribbon, combat action badge, and parachutist badge.
