Militia members loyal to the Libya’s UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) continued their offensive against the so-called Islamic State in the coastal city of Sirte, Sunday. The GNA reportedly managed to take control of one of Sirte’s key residential districts during the recent fighting.

Over the weekend, Libyan forces took back District 700, which is just south of the city’s center. The campaign began about two months ago after ISIS forces took the city last year when rival factions were fighting each other.
