Strap on your seatbelt and grab your barf bag because you’re about to be taken on the most intense flight of your life!
An HD camera is attached to the outside of a MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter jet as it takes us to the outer stratosphere. During this insane “near-space” flight the aircraft reaches speeds of over 630 mph and reaches altitudes of over 50,000 feet.
The weather conditions on this day were rather warm at more than 15° C, which causes the jet to not accelerate as high as it would ideally. Edge of Space flights are best in winter when the air is cold. An 20-22km altitude is very possible with the right conditions, though at least 17km is certain.

This twin-engine jet fighter aircraft reaches altitudes that are high enough to see the curvature of the earth. At around the 12:40 mark, smoke trails created by this mind-blowing flight are visible. The Earth below looks like it is covered in a bluish fog and the sky above becomes almost black with trillions of stars. No one, with the exception of “astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the ISS will fly higher at this point,” according to MigFlug.
