Check out this amazing trailer of “Sully” telling the untold story of the hero pilot, Capt. Chesley Burnett Sullenberger III who conducted an emergency water landing on the Hudson River on January 15, 2009.
Sullenberger was hailed a national hero after managing to land US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after he struck a flock of Canadian geese during its initial climb out of LaGuardia airport. Both engines were disabled and Sullenberger determined that the options of returning to LaGuardia Airport or landing in Teterboro Airport in New Jersey were not possible. All 155 passengers and crew members survived the landing on the Hudson River.
Sullenberger graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1969 and later became a fighter pilot for the United States Air Force. He had 42 years of experience and managed to save over 150 lives because of it.
Tom Hanks plays the lead role of Sullenberger in the film, with Aaron Eckhart co-starring as First Officer Jeff Skiles.
