Watch An A-10 Warthog Save A Soldier By Liquefying A Dozen Insurgents In Afghanistan

June 06, 2016

A U.S. soldier finds himself pinned down in an intense firefight against 10-15 insurgents in Afghanistan. The soldier fires blindly into the brush attempting to strike down his enemies that are only 50-100 meters away. Things look grim for the soldier and his unit until he calls in a familiar friend, The A-10 Warthog.

Listen as the soldier directs the A-10’s powerful 30mm cannon right to the insurgents hiding spot. You can hear the soldier is shaken at the beginning of the video. Fear begins to creep into his voice as enemy bullets fly above his head. You can hear the fear and anticipation slowly leave his voice with each pass of the A-10. The iconic “BRRRRRRTTTTT” of the A-10’s powerful nose cannon can be heard overhead as the plane decimates the insurgents as they hide in the brush.

After the final pass of the A-10 the soldier reports that the area is clear. This video is a must watch for anyone who doubts whether or not the A-10 still has a role in modern military operations.
