Last year at a board meeting, city official, Fred Gralinski likened American flags on the backs of fire trucks to ISIS flags. Now, the town of Coventry, Rhode Island has caused an uproar over the issue.

Here are Gralinski’s comments that sparked the outrage:
“They look like a bunch of yahoos. Like in the paper, like ISIS is Syria going to take over a city. I don’t think they need that big flag on the back of the truck. That’s not America to me. Those are a bunch of terrorists. So, I’m going to ask you to take the flag off the truck.”
When Gralinski was confronted by reporters, he stated that no flags were ordered off the trucks, just stickers that includes flags and union decals. Union president, David Gorman disagreed.
