Americans trust Donald Trump with their safety over Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Americans are also in favor of a temporary ban on Muslim immigration into the U.S.

According to a poll by Morning Consult, 41% of Americans trust Donald Trump with their safety and say he would do a better job at keeping America safe. Only 37% of voters said that Hillary is the better option to keep America safe. The results were broken evenly based on party lines showing 80% of Republicans preferred Trump and 71% of Democrats preferred Hillary Clinton. Among Independents, 38% preferred Trump compared to only 26% preferring Clinton.
In the poll gauging where America stands on Trump’s proposed temporary ban on Muslims immigration, 48% were in favor of it, while only 40% said they opposed it. Nearly half (49%) of Republicans say they strongly support the ban, compared to 26% by Independents and 16% by Democrats.
The Morning Consult conducted the poll with 2,001 voters between June 15 and 18th, following the Orlando terrorist attack.
