Kuss chose not to eject from the jet in order to steer clear of nearby apartment buildings and is considered a hero.
Kuss and the five other Navy Blue Angels were practicing for the upcoming Great Tennessee Air Show.
Kuss served in Afghanistan and was a decorated pilot, earning himself the Strike Flight Air Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Gone but never forgotten. RIP Capt. Jeff Kuss.
