Atorney General Loretta Lynch made a statement admiting that the FBI is unaware of the whereabouts of Omar Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman.

Before Mateen carried out the attack that would leave 49 people dead he added his wife to his life-insurance policy and gave her access to his bank accounts, according to CNN. The New York Post has reported that Mateen also bought plane tickets for his entire family the day before the attack. The tickets were for a trip from West Palm Beach, FL to San Francisco, CA before the end of July.
Reporters questioned Lynch regarding the whereabouts of Salman during a press conference on Tuesday, to which she replied:
“Right now, I don’t know exactly the answer to that, I believe she was going to travel but I do not know exactly her location now.”
Salman was living with Mateen’s father, Seddique Mateen, at his home near Fort Pierce, FL. Reporters asked Seddique where she was to which he simply replied “She’s no longer here.” Seddique claims to be unaware of her whereabouts but believes she is no longer in the state of Florida.

Sources believe Salman has gone into hiding due to emerging evidence that she may have been aware of her husbands plan. She claimed she had no knowledge of the attack and is not facing charges at this time.
New reports show that Salman was in contact during the attack itself. According to CNN a local law enforcement source claims Mateen sent her a text at approximately 4:00 AM. Other sources, CBS News, report that Salman was with Mateen when he was purchasing ammo for the attack.
