Mark Allen Bando, father of Orlando victim Christopher Andrew Leinonen, 32, spoke on the show to make a plea for armed self defense. He said that if his son or others were armed, things might have turned out differently.
“There wasn’t one person in there that wouldn’t have traded everything they owned in the world, just to have a loaded gun,” Bando said. “There is a simpler solution, as Donald Trump has said many times, if you have somebody shooting back the game’s over,” he said.
He said that his son did not live near him, but if he had, he might have gotten a concealed carry permit and taught him to shoot a gun.
