William J. Redd, 40, was found with multiple gun shot wounds just outside the home of his ex-girlfriend and was taken to a hospital in severe condition just before 7 A.M.
Redd has been charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence and violating a domestic violence order.
WKTY reported that neighbors have seen the man multiple times beforehand at her house with police on the scene. Despite the restraining order, he continually visited his ex-girlfriend.
Investigators reported that the woman shot her ex-boyfriend in self defense.
With the use of the weapon, she was able to prevent herself from being on the receiving end of more domestic abuse. She could have possibly could have saved her own life by pulling the trigger. Without it, she would have been another victim of more domestic violence.
