Hyperloop One has created an electromagnetic propulsion transportation system that can accelerate a test vehicle down a full scale test track at speeds up to 300 miles per hour.

The vehicle was launched yesterday on the test track in Las Vegas, Nevada. Using a linear electric motor, the engineers from Hyperloop One created a “propulsion open-air test.” The test vehicle clocked in at going from 0-60 mph in one second. Hyperloop One claimed that the test vehicle reached around 100 mph in the first second of launch. The vehicle accelerated at roughly 2.5 G’s.
Hyperloop One has yet to create breaks for the vehicle, so that is why it sand is used to slow it down until it comes to a hault.
Hyperloop One says that if the vehicle was more aerodynamically sound, it could reach close to 700 mph in a low pressure tube.
