In a world record, 30 OH-58D Kiowa warriors from the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division took off in their last flight over Fort Bragg under U.S. Army command.

The Kiowa Warriors will be replaced by the AH-64 Apache Helicopter and the UH-72 Lakota. Kiowa Warriors have been used by the U.S. Army since 1969 for the primary use of armed reconnaissance to support ground troops.
