A military figure with a history of butting heads with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is rumored to be on Donald Trump’s list of potential vice presidential candidates. Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn is reportedly on Trump’s “short list” of possible running mates.

Flynn has extensive military experience overseas and may have been chosen to be on the short list to boost Trump’s knowledge of national security and foreign affairs.
Trump is criticized by the talking heads on TV for lacking experience in national security and foreign affairs and political pundits point to his inexperience as a credibility gap between him and Clinton. If Flynn becomes the vice presidential nominee to Trump he will undoubtedly bridge that gap. Flynn served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency from spring 2012 to fall 2014. He boasts over 33 years of intelligence experience and has spent time as a U.S. military official in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
Flynn has shown phenomenal foresight during his time working for the Pentagon. He was highly critical of the way Clinton and her aides for mishandled classified information during her time in Obama’s Cabinet and has been warning politicians of the impending readiness crisis affecting the U.S. military for years.
Since his retirement he was worked on a book entitled “The Field of Fight: How We Can Win the Global War Against Radical Islam and Its Allies.” that he is publishing with the end goal of informing the American people of the grave danger he believes they face in the war on terror. In recent months he has worked as an advisor for the Trump presidential campaign.
