Greg Brannon, A House Republican candidate in North Carolina is raffling off an AR-15 rifle to donors for his campaign. Brannon announced the raffle in an email to his supporters.

In his email Brannon touted his love for the 2nd amendment and lashed out at opponents. Brannon is running against two incumbents: Reps. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) and George Holding (R-N.C.). Brannon’s campaign is a long-shot and he hopes that giving away a Core-15 M4 rifle will garner support among Americans who exercise their Second Amendment rights.
Brannon unsuccessfully ran for the Senate in North Carolina in 2014. He is hoping to connect with voters over their mutual love of firearms. He stated in the email sent to supporters announcing the raffle:
Patriot, I don’t know about you, but personally I love firearms. Whether it’s for hunting, for shooting, for collecting, for personal safety — or as the Founders reminded us — to serve as a safeguard against tyranny and oppression.
